Announced last Thursday at EAA’s AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI, certification of the very first very light jet signifies the impending arrival of a sea of change in the aviation industry.

World’s First VLJ Designated for Use in Commercial Fleet Operations

OSHKOSH, WISC. – July 28, 2006 – DayJet™ and Eclipse Aviation Corporation today unveiled the first Eclipse 500 very light jet (VLJ) to be utilized in commercial fleet operations. Eclipse 500 serial number 2, built at the Eclipse Aviation production facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, made its dramatic debut when it touched down at 12 p.m. Central Standard Time this morning at the EAA’s AirVenture 2006 in OshKosh, Wisconsin. The aircraft is the first of a new breed that will be used by DayJet to launch its innovative new “Per-Seat, On-Demand” jet service. The aircraft will be on display outside the Eclipse exhibit (west of AeroShell Square) through Sunday, July 30.
