New facility to support expansion of Company’s Executive Jets business
São José dos Campos, May 13, 2008 – Embraer announced, today, in the presence of Mayor Harry Goode, of the City of Melbourne, Florida, Governor Charlie Crist of the State of Florida, Enterprise Florida, and other state and local officials, that it plans to invest an estimated US$ 50 million for the establishment of a new facility in the United States dedicated to its executive jets business.
May 8th, 2008 - Mecaer America Inc., a Mecaer Group Company, has been officially selected by Diamond Aircraft to provide the landing gear system for the series production of the D-JET personal jet. Mecaer America's scope of work includes design, certification testing, manufacturing and after-sale support of the nose and main landing gear.
Embraer executive jet’s maturity campaign continues to move forward
São José dos Campos, May 5, 2008 – Embraer’s forth Phenom 100 jet successfully concluded its cold soak tests on April 14, moving ahead with the aircraft’s maturity campaign. The test was performed at a well known climate laboratory at Eglin U.S. Air Force Base, in Florida. Its objective is to certify the aircraft’s strength and the functioning of the plane and its components under condition of extreme cold.
May. 02/08 - Smart Air S.A. today announced the first fractional ownership solution in Europe for the Diamond D-JET personal jet. For its fleet, Smart Air has made an initial purchase of eight aircraft and has secured options for more thereafter with deliveries to begin in the first quarter of 2010.
First foreign approvals for Eclipse 500 Jet
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — May 01, 2008 — Eclipse Aviation, manufacturer of the world's first very light jet (VLJ), today announced that it has received certification to register and operate the Eclipse 500 in India and Australia. The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India granted the first foreign country Eclipse 500 certification on April 7, 2008 and the Civil Aviation Safety Agency (CASA) in Australia approved the Eclipse 500 on April 22, 2008. These certifications expand Eclipse Aviation's global reach and allow its customers to register and operate their Eclipse 500 jets in these two countries.
First flight on schedule for mid-2008
São José dos Campos, April 14, 2008 – Embraer finished assembling the first Phenom 300 jet at its Gavião Peixoto plant in São Paulo, Brazil, on April 12. The rollout precedes a series of ground tests to be conducted in preparation for the jet’s first flight. Moreover, the final assembly of the second Phenom 300 has already begun at the same plant.

April. 14/08 - Diamond Aircraft Industries today announced that D-JET serial number 003 completed its first flight, marking another important milestone in the company's D-JET personal jet program. The aircraft departed from Diamond Aircraft's London, Ontario facility for a successful 1 hour and 25 minute flight with Chief Test Pilot Daniel Ribeiro at the controls. The flight went exactly as planned with completion of all test cards.
