Space and layout flexibility gained
São José dos Campos, May 21, 2007 – Embraer is extending the cabin of the Phenom 300 executive jet for greater passenger comfort and increased floor plan flexibility. The fuselage has gained an additional 14 inches (36 cm) in length, resulting in another 15 cubic feet of space (0.42 cubic meters).
The Phenom 300 cabin amplification provides greater passenger leg room and reclining space for seats and augments interior seating arrangements. Single and double-seat divans and an expanded galley have been added to the furnishing options. This design enhancement is based on wind tunnel test results that demonstrated the potential for fuselage extension without compromising performance characteristics. The Phenom 300 program is progressing on schedule. Planning for the manufacturing process and tooling development have already begun. In late March, the first metal cut for the jet was precisely milled and, since then, over one hundred other parts have been produced. The maiden flight and entry into service are expected to occur in mid-2008 and mid-2009, respectively.
A full-scale mock-up of the Phenom 300 with the expanded cabin and interior enhancements will be displayed at EBACE 2007, in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 22 to 24.
