The Taxijet (www.taxijet.com) idea was conceived at 36,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean in the winter of 2004, as an alternative to an airline pilot career that ended abruptly.  The company was informally founded in Jan, 2005 and the web site was first published in March 2005.

Our mission is to facilitate the coming revolution in air travel.  The cost of jet ownership is now within reach of a large number of qualified pilots who wish to use their aircraft as a means of self-employment. They will need a central agency to provide services, which are beyond the scope of a handful of pilots. Taxijet will provide services these small groups of pilots need by tapping into the collective power of many small partnership owner operators.

Taxijet was founded by Roger Burton in Mission Viejo, CA.  Roger began his military career as an Electrician's Mate in the nuclear power Navy.  He received a NROTC scholarship to Oregon State University where he received a BS degree in computer science.  He earned his private pilot certificate in 1982 and has since flown the A-4 Skyhawk and AV-8B Harrier in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He participated in Desert Storm and served in numerous billets including Forward Air Controller, Legal Officer, Administrative Officer, Intelligence Officer and Assistant Operations Officer.  After voluntary separation from the Marine Corps he became a flight instructor and charter pilot, flying the Cessna 421, for Lenair Aviation in Orange County California, CFI/CFII/MEI/ATP.  Roger flew the CRJ for Atlantic Coast Airlines but was furloughed when ACA broke it's ties with United Airlines and became Independence Air.  He flew the Boeing 757 for American Trans Air but was furloughed when ATA went into bankruptcy.  His is a common story in the airline industry but Roger has decided to shift gears and begin Taxijet as his third career.

Through our commitment, experience, and expertise Taxijet is working to establish business relationships with customers that will last a lifetime.

Taxijet is owned by Migration III Holdings, LLC.
