Spectrum To Open Operations In Carlsbad California Print E-mail
San Diego, California - May 18, 2007 - Spectrum Aeronautical LLC, manufacturer of the new Spectrum Independence light jet and Spectrum Freedom mid-size jet, announced that it has established its corporate and sales headquarters at the McClellan-Palomar Airport [KCRQ] in Carlsbad, California.  Spectrum has moved into 8,000 square feet of office and hanger space which will include room for future expansion.

Austin Blue, Spectrum's President noted that, "The new location at Palomar is ideal for us.  The airport provides excellent visibility for our aircraft programs, and its convienience is a real plus."  Prior to the move, Spectrum's operations were directed from off-airport offices located a few miles away in Cardiff by the Sea, California.

"I'm excited about the move," commented Gary Bushouse, Director of Sales for Spectrum.  "Palomar has a reputation for being the airport of choice for major corporations doing business in the San Diego area."  He added that, "its traffic represents a wide cross-section of the type of operators that are purchasing our aircraft."

The new facitlity will be housed in the Jet Source complex at CRQ.  Frank Milian, President and COO of Jet Source, says he's pleased that Spectrum selected their site for the new offices.  "We expect our charter services clientele to be as impressed with the Spectrum fleet of aircraft as we are."  noted Milian.  "As both companies will have their corporate headquearters located on McClellan-Palomar Airport, we will be able to work hadn-in-hand to enhance the overall success of both companies in this exciting segment of the corporate VLJ market.  Working together we will continue to raise the bar for excellence in the region."

In addtion to its new Souther California offices, Spectrum has recently added a new 85,000 sq. ft. faciility for its Development Center.  Located just south of Provo, Utah, the addtion houses the company's development, test, and certification activities, bringing the total size at the location to more than 130,000 sq. ft.

"Spectrum's employment has tripled over the past two-years," said Blue, "and facilities expansion remains a key part of our strategic plan."

Spectrum's two jets, the "Independence" (model S-33 eight-place light jet) is scheduled for certification and intial deliveries during 2009, and the "Freedom" (model S-40 nine-place mid-sized jet) is scheduled for certification in 2010.  To follow the progress of both aircraft, visit Spectrum Aeronautical LLC on the web at www.spectrum.aero.
