Wondair launches ownership program for the Phenom 100 São José dos Campos, October 18, 2006 -Embraer announced that Valencia-based Wondair has acquired 24 Phenom 100 jets. The Spanish on-demand operator has also placed an option for an additional 12 aircraft. The contract allows Wondair to convert its positions from Phenom 100 to Phenom 300.
The contract, worth just over US$ 70 million at list price, based on January 2005 economic conditions, has a potential of reaching US$ 105 million, if all options are converted into Phenom 100 jets. Deliveries to Wondair will start during the second half of 2009.
“Smart is the key word behind this deal,” says Javier Diez, Wondair CEO. “I see no other word to summarize the selection process which was based on the innovative business plan we have established for Wondair for the future. Although we’ve been considering many other aircraft, the smart choice was the Phenom 100. The aircraft is ideally suited for the operation we are planning. It has the largest cabin in its class, translating into the best comfort for our passengers. Moreover, Embraer’s experience in developing reliable aircraft designed for heavy-duty operations has played a significant role in our final decision” |
