Denzil White Appointed Director Special Mission and Training Aircraft Print E-mail
With more then 20 years of experience, Denzil White, brings outstanding commercial and military aviation experience to Grob Aerospace, where he has taken up the position as Director Special Mission & Training Aircraft. Here, he will be in charge of International Sales for the Grob Training Fleet as well as Director of Special Mission aircraft.

grob_denzil_whiteDenzil White will be responsible for growing the customer base for the Grob’s range of robust, reliable and cost effective primary training aircraft, the G 115E, G 120A and G140. At the close of 2006, there were over 400 Grob training aircraft flying with major air forces, including the NATO.

“With an estimated requirement for 500 new training aircraft over the next five years and several air forces going to tender in 2007, we expect the Grob to be very well placed to achieve a good percentage of this  business with the G115 and G120 aircraft”, said Denzil White.

Further he is responsible for the business development and sales of the special mission aircraft derived from the spn platform like maritime patrol, air ambulance, freight operations and surveillance. Due to its superior short field performance, range-payload capabilities, outstanding fuel efficiency, and spacious cabin is the spn a particularly well suited aircraft to fulfill the special mission requirements.

Prior to joining Grob Aerospace Denzil White held the position of Executive Director International Projects with the ExecuJet Aviation Group and had previously established the Group’s Middle East business and served as Executive Director of Operations responsible for safety and training standards across the Group’s worldwide operations.

A military and commercial pilot, he is a Grade One flying instructor and a designated flying examiner for the UAE and South African Civil Aviation Authorities. He holds Airline Transport Licenses for the USA, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates and has logged over 9,000 flight hours, including experience on Learjet, Challenger and Global Express aircraft. He has also served as a director of the Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa, President of the Business Aircraft Association of South Africa and as a director of the International Business Aircraft Council.

Denzil White served for over 20 years as a fixed and rotary wing pilot with the South African Air Force and was decorated for gallantry in action. His various posts included Officer Commanding several operational squadrons, Officer Commanding Joint Offensive Support Centre and Group Commander Joint Air Reserve Squadrons.

About the G 120A
The G 120A is a cost effective and versatile light aircraft, specifically designed to meet the most challenging forms of primary pilot training. It is certified by both the EASA and the FAA to +6/-4g. The aircraft is fitted with its powerful 260 hp Lycoming engine. It provides the ideal training platform for the full range of conventional high-performance aerobatic maneuvers, including spins, inverted spins, loops, rolls, stall turns, outside turns and recovery from unusual attitudes. This versatile aircraft also offers excellent handling at both high and low airspeeds, making it ideal to tackle the full spectrum of primary training requirements, including pilot screening, instrument flying, navigation and mission oriented tasks which previously required two different aircraft types.

Like all other Grob aircraft, the G 120A airframe is manufactured entirely from carbon fiber composite, which gives it a competitive advantage by offering high strength and long structural service life of 15’000 hours, lightweight construction and associated low fuel consumption and low maintenance costs.
