Cessna Announces Direct Operating Cost Estimates for the Citation Mustang Print E-mail
Palm Springs, Calif., November 9, 2006 – It will cost an estimated $2.06 per nautical mile to operate Cessna Aircraft Company’s newly certified Citation Mustang business jet, bringing the speed, range and comfort of owning a jet to more people than ever before at less than the cost of today’s turboprop aircraft.

Full Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification for the Citation Mustang was awarded Sept. 8, making it the first of a new category of entry level jets to win FAA certification.

The six-place Citation Mustang has a top speed of 340 ktas (nearly 400 miles per hour), a range of 1,150 nautical miles (1,323 statute miles/2,130 km – NBAA IFR Reserves) and a service ceiling of 41,000 feet (12,500 m) – well suited for getting above most weather and commercial traffic for more efficient operations.
