Swiss startup Aviace Ltd claims that VLJ manufacturer Eclipse Aviation has canceled delivery of 112 aircraft order.
In the claim, Aviace states that the agreed upon price per aicraft of $1.045 million was increased during production by $634,305 and eventually canceled when payment was not received on the increase. Aviace claims that Eclipse has breached their original agreement by bumping delivery of the newly certified Eclipse 500 VLJ aircraft to fullfill other orders. Aviace's claim also states that Eclipse is determined to terminate the purchase agreement to allow Eclipse to sell the aircraft at a higher profit than the original agreement.

Grob Aerospace announced today a long term partnership with Austrian-based Porsche Design Studio, a subsidiary of Porsche Design Group (Porsche Lizenz- und Handels-gesellschaft mbH & Co. KG). The Studio is designing fresh, contemporary interiors for Europe’s newest light business jet, the spn.

The second prototype participating in the flight test and certification programme of Grob Aerospace’s spn, made its first successful flight today, 29 September 2006. At the controls were Grob Aerospace test pilots, Gerard Guillaumaud and Alan Lawless. After performing initial handling tests and system checks, the aircraft landed again safely after 35 minutes. According to chief test pilot Guillaumaud, “It was a real pleasure to fly our second prototype today and by that we achieved an important mile stone in our test program”. The flight today took off from the company airport in Tussenhausen-Mattsies and was also first maiden flight of a spn jet aircraft from here. The aircraft will immediately join the flight test program

Grob Aerospace has selected Honeywell to supply its RE100 auxiliary power unit (APU) for the spn, its new versatile business jet, which is Europe’s latest light jet. The spn becomes the only currently available jet of the part 23 commuter class equipped with an optional APU. This enhances the operational capabilities and provides the spn with the self-sufficiency and flexibility, as well as passenger comfort, of larger business jets.

spn Flight Envelope Fully Opened - 2nd Prototype Completes First Flight
The flight envelope of the spn, Grob Aerospace’s new versatile, all composite light jet, has been now fully opened while the second prototype, P2, has completed its first flight and production of the third prototype, P3, is poised to start in early October for entry into the program in early 2007.

Albany International Airport designated as service location for Eclipse 500 owners
ALBANY, NY — October 04, 2006 — Today Eclipse Aviation, manufacturer of the world’s first very light jet (VLJ), teamed with New York State and Albany Airport officials to break ground on the Eclipse 500 Northeast service center at Albany International Airport. Slated to be fully functional in mid-2007, the Albany facility is one of seven centers in the continental U.S. that will be dedicated to the maintenance and support of the Eclipse 500.

FAA authorizes maintenance and repair for Eclipse 500
Albuquerque, NM — October 03, 2006 — Yesterday Eclipse Aviation, manufacturer of the world’s first very light jet (VLJ), received 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station Certification two days after receiving FAA Type Certification. This important certification proves that the Eclipse service center has met the FAA’s stringent aircraft repair and maintenance regulations. Eclipse Aviation can now lead the repair and maintenance of any Eclipse 500 with a standard airworthiness certificate.
