DayJet™ (www.dayjet.com) Corporation is pioneering a new option in regional business transportation that the industry calls “Per-Seat, On -Demand” jet services. The company has a simple yet powerful vision: to make direct, on-demand air transportation between small regional markets a commercial reality.
DayJet will build and operate the nation’s first “Per-Seat, On-Demand” regional air service based on a new generation of very light jet (VLJ) aircraft and its own real-time operations system to DayJet’s services will be uniquely tailored to each passenger’s individual schedule and priced slightly higher than full- fare coach airfare. DayJet will own, manage and operate its own fleet of aircraft under existing FAA Part 135 on-demand regulations. To achieve its vision of “Per-Seat, On-Demand” jet services, DayJet has teamed with Eclipse Aviation Corporation, the leading manufacturer of new-generation VLJ aircraft. In July 2002, DayJet signed a long-term agreement with Eclipse Aviation for the purchase of Eclipse 500 jets. The first 24 months of the five-year agreement includes firm orders for 239 Eclipse 500 aircraft and options to purchase 70 additional aircraft. Deliveries will begin shortly after the Eclipse 500 receives FAA certification, which is on track to occur by the end of the second quarter 2006. DayJet will combine the Eclipse 500 aircraft with its own real-time operations system specially designed for the unique requirements of large-scale, on-demand air travel. The company is designed from the ground up to deliver the highest availability, reliability and flexibility in on-demand jet travel through technology-enabled transportation services. The combination will provide an affordable and efficient alternative for priority business travel, enabling regional travelers to fly direct – where they want, when they want – increasing productivity and improving quality of life. |
